Dr Johan Ng received his PhD degree from the University of Birmingham, UK, where his research primarily focused on the psychology of sport and exercise, and in particular, the motivational aspects of behavioural engagement in physical activity. After receiving his PhD in 2013, he continued his research work at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. While he continued his research work in the area of motivation aspects of physical activity, he took part in multiple projects on school-based physical activity interventions, and the application of information technology to enhance the effects of such programmes. He has secured several competitive research grants in the capacity of a Co-PI or Co-I, including one Research Impact Fund (UGC), and one General Research Fund (UGC).
